Clearly someone has too much time on their hands....
This animation celebrates the glory of early gaming but there's a twist - it's done entirely with lego! Enjoy :)

Now if I had my slightly useful ex around I would be able to tell you if that was genuine Commodore 64 music or not. I heard so much about the bloody sid chip over the years... I thin there are about 25 of the damn things (C64s) in my loft!

And you're up late for you too. I don't usually see you around this time of the night!

Yeah, that was quite late, it's because I have a Saturday off. Mainly because I'm working the Bank Hol, but still :)

The gray/black bit with the people; that might be roto-scoping done in Director. In roto scoping you take real pictures and/or film and get the computer to isolate the outline. You can then alter that outline with color or distortions.

Have you seen the Lego version of Mython Python's "Knights of Camelot" song? It is way too funny.

I studied Film at Art School, so I know what rotoscoping is, it could be that, but the posting said the whole thing was Lego, so I don't know.

And yeah, I posted a link to that vid a few months back, it's great isn't it? If you can find the post there's links in the comments to some other Monty Python Lego clips. :)

wow. yep, they did clearly have too much time on their hands.

but also an admirable ammount of patience. I wouldn't have the patience to do that with lego to save my life, or the Earth itself.

but ah, the memories... my brother and I had a NES - I remember the excitement at playing Mario and Tetris. :-P

Happy days, eh? *grin*

I had a ZX Spectrum+ when I was a kid. Ah, the days of sitting for half an hour, listening to a tape screeching, to enable you to play Jet Set Willy or Manic Miner for five minutes before my mum yelled that it was dinner time! (I also had the computer game for The Fall Guy, it was so awful but I loved that show!)
