What I did on my holiday....

Here are some of the pictures I took while I was on holiday last week. Sorry they're not the greatest quality, I took them with my mobile phone. There's two National Trust properties in Devon and one in Dorset:
Castle DrogoCastle Drogo

This is a National Trust property in Devon. It's a folly, built at the beginning of the 20th Century
Castle Drogo againCastle Drogo again

The impressive front entrance.
Beautiful DevonBeautiful Devon

The view from the front of Castle Drogo. Pretty isn't it?
Rear view from Castle DrogoRear view from Castle Drogo

This is the view at the back of the house. Must have been great to look out onto that.
Same againSame again

Same view but without the wall. :)
The View from Knightshayes CourtThe View from Knightshayes Court

Another National Trust place, this one is near the village of Tiverton in Devon. Beautiful view, beautiful weather.
The Kitchen GardenThe Kitchen Garden

The enormous Organic kitchen gardens at Knightshayes are maintained by the Trust and the produce supplies the restaurant.

Same place, different view. It was so lovely, insects buzzing around and with the wonderful herbs scenting the air and the terraces of the walled garden you could almost believe it was June in Italy rather than October in England. :)
Kitchen Garden 3Kitchen Garden 3

Hard to believe this was taken in October in the UK. :)

Took this ages ago, but was quite pleased with the way it came out. Not bad for a mobile phone.
All a flapAll a flap

Another old shot from when I first got my phone. This was a really lucky bit of timing that I had my finger on the button as the goose began flapping his wings. The lake is in my local park.
The Tea GardenThe Tea Garden

View over the beautiful Japanese Tea Garden at Kingston Lacy Estate in Wimborne. I love it there, and it's quite near my house so I get to go quite often and just sit in serenity.

view from the other end of the Japanese garden showing the tea house.

Pretty darn good pics for a camera phone!

Not too shabby are they? :) I have to admit I have serious technophilia towards my mobile - it's practically a PDA, an ipod and a camera AND I can make calls on it!

Just discovered this week that I can even read Word docs on it and visit LJ so I never need to lose track of my fic again!*bounces*

Oh dear, that's kinda sad isn't it. *g*

Beautiful!!! My god Castle Drogo looks huge! And the tea garden looked gorgeous. It was a good trip then?

Oh definitely. It was nice to get away for a bit, enjoy some quality time with my mum and sis.

It's the only reason I've got that phone. I'm a big photo fan and I was always 'Oo that looks so pretty, I wish I had a camera'. This way, I always do have one. And an MP3 and a PDA *grin*

I got a really good deal on the contract or I wouldn't be able to afford it, it's a mega expensive top of the range one.

Castles aren't all they're cracked up to be - cold and drafty places. *g*

I haven't been to Kingston Lacy in years, though I absolutely love riding down the avenue on my motorbike, beeches whipping past on both sides *g* Have had a slight obsession with Badbury Rings since childhood, however! I requested and got NT membership for my birthday. Must get on and use it :)

I think I'd go quite mad without mine, free days out and all that. Kingston Lacy is my main haunt cos of the Egyptology collection mostly. *g*
