meme time...
snagged from aeron_lanartithidrialand others...

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you for your interest in my words.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself? Any old thing at all, the more trivial and fascinating, the better. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they have a giant birthmark shaped like a wildebeest on their right buttock."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

Some of you I know better than others, and some of you I knew before I ever got on LJ, but I'm a people person and I'd love to know more about all of you.

Ps, those of you who commented on my last meme, I am writing the conversations, I promise, it's just taking me a while. :)

I'm a cynical romantic -- I'm rather bah humbug on the concept of true love, but I'm willing to be proven wrong :)

I drink several large pots of tea a day.

I always begin my evening with a glass of red wine

I collect random bits of artwork (electronic format, mostly).

I'll listen to any music at least once, though I am of the firm opinion that opera is a weapon of torture, and am not particularly fond of most rap or hip-hop, jazz or blues or country.

I've crammed enough stuff to furnish a small apartment (except for table) into a fourteen by fourteen room and walk-in closet, and still been able to move around comfortably. It doesn't fit as well into a nine by nine room and small closet. I'm thinking the tall shelves will have to live in the hallway, and the file cabinets in the basement.

I have absolutely no time sense without a clock.

I'm allergic to everything. All grasses and trees and rice and oats and oranges and chocolate and cauliflower and carrots and pecans and egg whites and a bunch of other innocuous things I can't remember. I can eat most things I'm allergic to without too many difficulties, except for seafood.

This past summer I went into a corn field for an archaeological project, not realizing corn was slightly sharp and forgetting it was a grass, and got covered in ginormous welts all over my exposed skin from wherever the corn leaves scraped against me.
Kay: muppets -- kermit & starsilvercobwebs on December 22nd, 2007 11:40 pm (UTC)
I am a terrible hoarder. Books, magazines, the TLS - I cannot let the printed page go. About the only thing I can bear to get rid of is spam mail. : D

My first crush was Kermit the Frog. I was 5. *g*
But, I don't want to be a pie,: snowidontlikegravy on December 23rd, 2007 07:00 pm (UTC)
Me too (the hoarding I mean, not the frog, although I do love him). The spooky similarities continue!

That is a brilliant icon. I just watched it on Five. I love that film so much, went to see it in the cinema when it was released. Muppets rule. :)
The other Weird Al: Chocolate!aeron_lanart on December 23rd, 2007 12:17 am (UTC)
I'm addicted to chocolate in all shapes and forms.

I dislike coffee and tea (though I'll drink frappacinos).

I never throw books out. I occasionally give them away to charity if I no longer read them, but it's a very rare book that only gets read once.

I have a very distinctive thumb print on my right hand as I have a triangular scar on the pad where I almost sliced the top of it with a corned beef tin (those old fashioned ones you had to open with a key; there's a reason you don't see them anymore!)

I've been a fan of Highlander since I saw the first film at the cinema way back in the 1980s and a fan of Doctor Who since 1971 when I have my first memories of watching Jon Pertwee from behind the sofa.

I've been incredibly superstitious about the number 13 since a loudspeaker fell on my head at 13:13 on my 13th birthday (now you know there's a reason why I'm bonkers). Luckily I didn't need 13 stitches in my head!

I breed and show dogs (beagles) I read (sci-fi fantasy, crime dramas, mystery spy stuff)I like to go hiking. My 16 year old son cooks better than I do and as long as I have cable tv, a dvd player and internet, I'd make a great hermit.

I always forget that I love reading history.

I am an ordained minister, though I don't currently have a congregation. I make a hobby of rescuing damsels in distress. Oh, and I write angst fic as I am a closet romantic who has experienced way too much rejection in my life.

Let's see

I can't stand Coffee. I drink a lot of Diet coke because I am a Caffeine addict.

I Bowl in a league and I carry about a 155 average.

I met my husband over a conversation about Stargate. We were destined for each other once I knew he bowled, loved scifi and collected comic books
