Making like a sheep....
Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.

silvercobwebs asked me these probing beauties:
1) Which piece of your own fiction are you most proud of? Hmm, until recently it was Immortal Giles, but at the moment its the Secret Santa fic I wrote, Journey to Abydos. It's the first time I've managed to do something sad without it becoming melodramatic, so I'm proud of that.

2) Have you ever visited Egypt? If so, where was your favourite place/site, and if not, where in particular would you most like to visit? I have visited Egypt, once, on a Nile Cruise. The answer is easy, Abu Simbel. It absolutely blew my socks off. It's awesome in the proper sense of the word, not the hot dog sense. I guess that's the artistic side of me, and the Egyptologist prefers Deir el Medina because it's where real people lived, where we can get all the fascinating mundane stuff about day to day life. I didn't get to go to Cairo on that trip though, so I really want to go back and see the pyramids and Cairo museum.

3) Cpt Jack or The Doctor? Oh good grief! Do I pick the guy who would never see me 'in that way' or the guy who flirts with everything with a pulse? Well I can live with platonic, so I say the Doctor. But if Jack shows up I wouldn't say no. *grin*

4) Is there any popular show you tried to watch, but just couldn't get in to? Hmm....Prison Break. Not through any fault of the show, I just missed too many episodes and couldn't be bothered. Lost and Desperate Housewives I both gave up on in their second seasons because I thought they got kinda crap.

5) Can you share something Quite Interesting with us? ; ) LOL Er, well, um.... Did you know that the ancient Egyptians believed that you could cure toothache by rubbing a dead mouse on it? Seriously. Generally their medicine was quite reasonable and logical and in most instances fairly effective, but I don't know what they were smoking when they came up with that one! If you meant something about myself, then... I studied film before I went into Egyptology and wanted to be a writer or a composer but realised I wasn't enough of a bitch to get on in the film industry. *grin*

So, if anyone wants to participate, comment away! silvercobwebs, this includes you too dear. :)

I learned to read when I was just barely 2.

Random enough?

Close enough. Randomly, so did I!

1)Do you ever edit fic after you've posted, and if not, are there any you want to change?
2)Is the grass in Kentucky really blue?;)
3)Cos I'm an unoriginal sod: Jack or the Doctor?
4)Who would be your five dream dinner guests (5+you=6)?
5)Are there any movies (or books) that people rave about that you can't see what the fuss is about?
Morgyn: donutsmorgynleri_fic on January 12th, 2008 01:08 am (UTC)
I made myself French Toast for breakfast and dinner today - used buttermilk instead of regular milk because I like the texture better, and I'm out of cream.

Ooh, sounds yummy!

1)Is there a character in any of your fandoms that you feel you write better than any other?
2)House or Wilson?
3)If you could meet any person from anywhere in history, who would it be?
4)Would you be the Doctor's companion if he asked you?
5)Who'd win a witch duel: Hermione Granger or Willow Rosenberg?

Me fail English? That's unpossible! ; D

1)What was the last book you read?
2)Blue Mountain Java, Guatemalan Elephant or Costa Rican?
3)Is there any fandom that you would like to write but don't have the time/courage/inclination to write a fic?
4)Who would be your five dream dinner companions, real or fictional?
5)Why do you list John Cage in your favourites? And do you include 4'33"? Or do you mean the Ally McBeal character? *grin*
Kay: fitz -- hl -- here nor theresilvercobwebs on January 12th, 2008 04:43 pm (UTC)
Replying here, because otherwise I'm gonna be all memed out!
1) Last night I finished reading: Greek Myths: The Universe, the Gods, and Mortals, which I'd been reading off and on for the last few weeks. Love my myths *g*. I'm also in the middle of Dorothy Dunnett's Niccolo Rising, thanks to my mother's prodding.
2) Guatamalan for every now and then, but Costa Rican for a more everyday blend. I don't think I've ever tried Blue Mountain before (gasp!)
3) Plenty. I'd like to try Doctor Who for one, but with so much backstory and rabid shippers, I'm frankly a little afraid.
4) Oh, good question! Off the top of my head: Stephen Fry, Shakespeare, Methos, Billie Holiday and Montaigne.
5) Both! And 4'33''? Heh, well, I listen to it all the time, when I'm on my own ; P

First round is on me :)

You might regret that offer one day. *eg*

1)Have you ever walked out of a movie before the end? If yes, which one and why?
2)Which of your fics are you most proud of?
3)If you were to bury a time capsule, what would you put in it?
4)Richie or Dean? (And no, you have to choose, you can't have both ;-p)
5)Do you have any skills/talents I don't know about?

Song phrase from 'a' favorite song...

…the only thing in life of worth is free
To anyone whose heard the call
And turned and run away
Despite this nasty world I roam
Imagine going home...
Ghost of a chance

Re: Song phrase from 'a' favorite song...
1: House. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Hugh Laurie fan, from Jeeves and Wooster all the way back to Blackadder. And the episodes of House I have seen leave me with nothing but admiration for his acting ability, but the plot lines on the show? Not so much.

2: Dinner Guests? Ben Franklin, Julius Ceasar, Colin Powell, Joss Whedon, and perhaps a more intimate dinner with Amanda Tapping! LOL

3: Army Rat is an old nickname from the days of the formation of the Unimoose. It was at the NASFIC in 1985. You may wish to ask dossier more about that story, and ask her why HER nimoose nickname is Madame Presidente'

4: dossier dragged me kicking and screaming back into fandom after I had gaffiated for a number of years.

5: Tough call, but I think I have to go with Bruce Lee.
