Merlin Drabble
Untitled drabble inspired by last night's ep. MAJOR SPOILERS for 3.01!!

Not mine, never was never will be.

As he felt the scorpion’s poison spread through his veins, one thought resounded in Merlin’s mind.

I’ve failed him.

He was about to die and Camelot would fall. Arthur was going to die before he could fulfil his destiny.

The dragon would have a good laugh about this, he thought bitterly. Then he suddenly realised that was his salvation.

He wasn’t certain the dragon would heed the call, but he had a feeling it had no choice but to answer him. Summoning the last of his strength, Merlin called out to the great dragon.

Then all he knew was blackness.

It did seem a little convenient for the dragon to show up when he did. This is perfect - it makes so much more sense that Merlin actually called to him!

*looks shifty* Umm... I thought he did? I thought he said something that had the word 'Draconis' in it, and I assumed that was what he was doing. Maybe not. But it just goes to show how unclear it was!! :)

See i didn't get that and I thought the dragon showing up was a little Deus ex machina. You should just take the credit and run :D

Yay for Merlin drabble - and the thought behind the summoning, you make it make sense.

In the ep I liked that there were a few nice Gaius/Uther moments, especially the bit where Gaius tries to reach Uther as a friend - but has to fall back to his role as a physician.
