Torchwood/The Clangers Crossover 1/1
This was written at the request of aeron_lanart, who was disappointed that nobody had taken her Bring the Happy prompt of 'The Clangers/Torchwood ; Myfanwy, team, soup dragon ; Bonding'. This is what my brain came up with.

Disclaimer:Not mine, not one little bit, it all belongs to Aunty Beeb.

Warning:NOT suitable for children! Unbeta'd.

A New Friend

The new arrival to the Hub caused a mixture of reactions from the Torchwood team.

“It’s so cute,” Tosh cooed and tickled it under the chin. Gwen crouched down and joined in the tickling, which the creature seemed to appreciate.

“It’s a bloody dragon,” Owen pointed out, keeping his distance despite the fact that the creature was about the size of a poodle.

“She is not just any dragon; she is the Soup Dragon, an inhabitant of the moon. Which is where we shall return her as soon as possible,” declared Jack as he came down the stairs from his office.

Nobody asked how he knew that, they were all used to him making such statements. Besides, he wouldn’t tell them if they did ask.

“And how exactly do you propose we do that?” Unsurprisingly, this came from Owen, complete with sarcastic tone.

“I’m working on that,” Jack replied enigmatically. Owen rolled his eyes.

“So what do we do with her in the meantime?” Tosh asked in a tone that practically begged Jack to let her take the dragon home with her.

“She could stay here. I’m sure Myfanwy would appreciate the company,” Ianto suggested, making everyone jump; they hadn’t even noticed he was there.

“Won’t they fight?” Gwen asked, concern on her face.

“Let’s find out,” Jack replied. He stuck his fingers in his mouth and whistled. Moments later, they all heard the flap of leathery wings and a screech from above before Myfanwy landed in front of Jack.

She cocked her head in a manner that looked like she was curious, and then gave another squawk. Ianto pulled a bar of chocolate from his pocket and broke off a strip before tossing it toward her. She caught it deftly in her mouth and then a second later gave another squawk.

“Uh-uh, not right now,” Jack admonished and patted Myfanwy on the head. He then bent down to scoop up the Soup Dragon and presented her to Myfanwy.

The pterosaur eyed up the dragon cautiously, and then sniffed her. Having determined that she wasn’t food, she nudged the dragon with her beak. The Soup Dragon gave a little squeak and nuzzled back, so Jack gently lowered her to the ground and stepped away.

“They seem to be getting on,” Gwen said.

They all watched as the two continued to examine each other, sniff and nudge one another.

“Um, is it just me, or do they seem to be getting on really well?” Tosh commented. Jack grinned.

“I think you might be right,” he said with a chuckle.

“But they’re both girls!” Owen said. “Not to mention they’re entirely different species.”

“Owen, honestly,” Tosh admonished.

“Besides,” Jack began, a wicked grin on his face. “I thought you enjoyed a bit of hot girl-on-girl action.”

Owen stared at Jack for a second, completely dumbstruck, before he suddenly remembered he needed to be somewhere else. The rest of the team all decided something very similar and discreetly left the two new friends to get better acquainted.

LOL!!! Not exactly what I'd imagined but it's brilliant. I adore this “Besides,” Jack began, a wicked grin on his face. “I thought you enjoyed a bit of hot girl-on-girl action.” it is *so* Jack.

I love you!!!
But, I don't want to be a pie,: pleased hamsteridontlikegravy on October 8th, 2010 11:45 am (UTC)
Thank you! *hugs*

To be honest, it's not what I'd imagined, but I got a mental image of the look on Owen's face as he realised what was happening, and it all went from there!

So, any other classic kids shows I can cross with? I have a lurking desire to do a Rentaghost one, but I'd need to watch it again before I even attempted that.

Hmmm, let's see...
So far I've convinced you to tackle Ivor the Engine, Bagpuss and the Clangers.

I suppose if you're going to stick with Mr Postgate that leaves the Pogles, Pingwings and Noggin the Nog but there's always Mary, Mungo and Midge if you don't or even Dangermouse.

Our game of consequences at Hub 5 lead to River Song meeting Dangermouse (as well as someone else asking Jesus if he was Penfold's nemesis). We ended up playing consequences as there was no music laid on for the chill out 'party' on the Sunday. It ended up being freaking hilarious as you might have seen from the video on my FB.
