Happy Birthday Birgitt! Champions ficlet 1/1
A Champions ficlet for birgitt, who asked for Craig/Richard with Sharron finding out, preferably because of super-hearing/telepathy.

I’m sorry if this isn’t quite what you were hoping for, but I seem to be physically incapable of writing decent sex scenes so while there is definite Craig/Richard, it is all talking, very little doing. I’m also sorry that it’s late, the day I’d set aside to write I was called into work and everything got a bit delayed. I hope you enjoy anyway. xxx

Disclaimer: Nothing is mine, sadly, just having fun, no harm intended.

Warning: Craig/Richard (nothing graphic though) and hinted future Craig/Richard/Sharron. NC 17 to be safe.

Three Can Be a Crowd

The three Nemesis agents found themselves held captive, an entirely too familiar situation, in the lair of a low-level evil genius with desires for world domination. Richard and Sharron had been bound together with rope and had easily broken free and now waited as Craig finished removing his own restraints.

Richard watched appreciatively as his partner made short work of the cuffs that had him chained to the wall. As Craig bent to remove his leg shackle, Richard admired the curve of his tight arse and an unbidden, but not unwelcome, image of what they might do together with those cuffs flickered across his brain. He quickly stifled the thought; this was neither the time nor the place.

“Richard, I know we share more than most agents, but that was a little more than I needed to know,” Sharron said, her tone part shocked, part amused. Craig turned to them both and grinned.

After a moment of confusion, Richard flushed with embarrassment as he realised that he’d broadcast that thought telepathically. Sharron chuckled and patted his knee.

“I won’t tell anyone. Besides, it’s perfectly legal these days and it’s nobody’s business what you do with your free time,” she said in a very reasonable tone. Richard looked at her, surprised by how laid back she was being. He knew that Sharron usually had progressive views, but in some things she could be quite… old-fashioned. This reaction was a pleasant surprise.

“I must say, you’re taking this rather better than I’d expected,” he said. Sharron laughed.

“Well, I’ve had plenty of time to get used to the idea,” she said. Richard was confused and his puzzlement must have shown as she continued. “Richard, some hotel walls are so thin I’d have heard you even without our hearing,” she said with a chuckle.

As realisation dawned, Richard went beetroot red and he could feel his ears burning. Sharron had heard them?

“Looks like the cat’s out of the bag, tiger,” Craig said with a grin. Richard glared at him. He didn’t find this half as funny as the two of them seemed to.

“Your secret is quite safe with me,” Sharron reassured them unnecessarily. After all, if they couldn’t trust her to keep a secret then who could they trust?

“Hadn’t we rather focus on getting out of here?” Richard said, changing the subject. Craig smiled in that way which could be endearing or infuriating, depending on Richard’s mood. Right now it was leaning toward infuriating. Probably sensing Richard’s mood, Craig grew serious and nodded.

“I only saw three guards on my way in,” he said.

“Same here,” Richard agreed “But let’s assume there are more.”

“Aren’t there always?” Sharron said with one sardonically raised eyebrow.

Craig and Richard turned their attention to the door, which was a simple wooden one, although quite thick and with a heavy lock. They nodded to each other, years of working together contributing as much as telepathy to their silent conversation and then took a step back before both throwing their shoulders at the door. On the third attempt, the door splintered open, spilling the two agents into the corridor, followed closely by Sharron.

Instantly on the alert, they looked for any sign of guards, or of alarm. The corridor remained silent and empty but for them.

“Maybe they’ve all given up and gone home?” Craig quipped as they cautiously made their way toward the exit. As the words left his mouth, a pair of soldiers armed with automatic rifles marched around the corner.

“No such luck,” Richard replied as the two of them ran toward the guards and made short work of them.

Once the guards were unconscious on the floor, Richard and Craig relieved them of their weapons, taking one each for themselves and passing a pistol that one carried to Sharron. Now armed, the Nemesis agents made their way toward the centre of the building, hoping to find some kind of control room and the foe they needed to defeat.

Several hours later, the world safe once again, the Champions were ensconced in their hotel for the night, waiting for the next flight back to Geneva. Sharron had retired to her room, leaving Craig and Richard to bed down for the night in theirs.

Richard lay on top of the bedclothes reading as Craig finished getting changed. Once done, he laid down next to Richard, rolled toward him, and began gently massaging his shoulder, rubbing in slow circles, slowly working his way down to Richard’s hips and around to his front.

As Craig’s fingers reached the string on Richard’s pyjamas, Richard stiffened and not in the way Craig was hoping for. Richard got up and walked over to the dresser, making a show of putting his book down before sitting down on a chair.

“What’s wrong?” Craig asked and propped himself up on one elbow.

“New rule. Not on missions. It’s unprofessional,” Richard replied. Craig pouted in disappointment, but a second later he grinned.

“Is this about what Sharron said earlier?”

“No,” Richard denied, but the scarlet shade his face turned spoke greater volumes than his weak rebuttal.

“There’s no reason to feel embarrassed,” Craig assured him and patted the bed in invitation. “Sharron won’t say anything”

Richard shook his head and stood up.

“That’s not the problem. Haven’t you thought? How embarrassing must this be for Sharron to hear us! Or, worse yet to feel what we’re feeling!” he declared and began pacing the floor, agitated. Craig got up and grabbed Richard gently by the shoulders.

“There’s not a lot we can do…” he began but was interrupted by the telephone. Richard shrugged off Craig and answered it.

Richard” Sharron said, her tone amused. “Who said I minded?

This is so much fun. :) (I don't know about birgitt, but I much prefer the stories that aren't explicit). I can completely believe that Sharron would take it all in her stride, and I can also totally see Craig finding it funny that she's known all along, while poor Richard gets all embarrassed. Love the ending, too.

Not sure if it's LJ!fail or me!fail, but I apologise for not replying sooner to this. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and that everyone felt in character, thank you! :)

Hee! Love embarrassed Richard and I *adore* Sharron's reaction at the end.

I'm thinking she'd probably get on like a house on fire with Tosh...

Love it. I could just imagine their reactions, very in character. I was amused by the last line. I certainly wouldn't mind if I was Sharron ;)
