Getting to know you...
snagged from strangevisitor7

Hey Flist!
Some of you I know extremely well(you know who you are) but others I know very little about. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes office supplies." I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. (Yes, even you people who I know really well.) Then post this in your own journal. In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer.

The book I'm reading now is about treasures and heirlooms of British Crown:). One of the first books I ever bought for myself was a book of Celtic myths and legends called 'The legends of the Red Dragon', and guess I'm a little partial to the Red Dragon of Wales ever since:). Even the OFC I wrote in my Highlander fics is a Welsh priestess:).

I find tidying and organising things into little piles (paper, books, Smarties...) weirdly soothing.

My first foray into fan-fic was Red Dwarf, before I even really knew what fic was *g*.

I find organising soothing too. Which gets big laughs from my family because otherwise I'm a complete slob! A very organised but very messy person. :) Kinda Rimmer+Lister combined. (Oh, that's a scary thought *shudder*)

You wrote Red Dwarf? Can I see? *bats eyelashes*

I do actually like office supplies. :D And I like them to each have their own particular spot--the stapler here, the tape dispenser there, the staple remover right there, the mug with the pens in it exactly there, the stack of post-it notes (tiny and regular-size, please) here, etc. etc. I get very nervous when they're out of place and have to move them all back.

Which is weird, because that only happens at work. I am nowhere at that level of neatness/OCDness at home.

LOL It's funny how we can be totally different people at work and at home. I've just got a mental image of stationery village from The Mighty Boosh in my head now! (tried to embed the clip but it didn't work, so here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gvZEB4s3-Y )

My favourite flavour of ice cream surprisingly isn't chocolate - it's toffee. Green and Blacks used to make to die for Treacle Toffee ice cream which is probably my favourite *ever* but it doesn't exist any more. :(

Aw man, I've never tried it, but I can just taste it and I'm now wishing that they did still do it. I love Treacle toffee. My mam makes a fantastic one, but Thornton's is pretty yummy too.

I love to read.

Especially fanfiction. Nothing quite makes my day as much as discovering another story that I hadn't read before. I get extra giddy when there is what I like to call "memorable lines" in the story. That's what helps me find particular stories over and over again ^_^

I often craft things as I read my stories, a page here and there between crochet, embroidery or whatever happens to the be current project. Between reading and crafting I often get distracted and end up forgetting to comment or leave reviews.

Because of this I lurk on favorite author's sites and read any of their updates. If possible I do try to remember to save the story to a favorites bookmark or whatnot.

If I do write something, it's because I haven't a needle and some type of thread in my hands ^_^

I am owned by two stubborn dachshunds. I specialize in OFCs, mainly because it's hard for me to find a female character on TV I can empathize with.

I love tattoos - I've currently got 5 and will have a 6th soon - which completely throws people because I'm so low-key otherwise.

I write original fantasy stories, mainly just to get them out of my head. I know I'm not good enough to ever get published, but I enjoy writing them anyway.

I have a cockroach phobia.
