Doctor Who

New Who!! And it was good. I'm slightly concerned that it's a two-parter and that this episode has been brilliantly building up to something that will come to nothing next week but I have to remind myself that this is not longer RTD-era Who *g*.

Loved Badger Canton (Was I the only one who got The Hero of Canton stuck in their head? *snerk*) and it's really nice to see him playing a good guy for a change! Although I'm a little disappointed - they went to the trouble to go to America and then hired a British actor... bzuh? (Not complaining, obviously, since it was Mark Sheppard)

Amy's preggers! But is that necessarily a good thing? And is she actually? I assumed yes as soon as she said she felt sick, but then when River said it I assumed it was an effect of The Silence. Guess we'll find out next week.

Who is back and it was a promising start. The Tribute to Sarah Jane on CBBC afterwards was lovely, didn't feel cobbled together or anything and I thought it hit the right note in catering to her older fans as well as the younger ones. A fitting fond farewell.

I'm still waiting for the Matt Smith Eps to hit my neck of the woods. Sigh. I'm actually looking forward to post RTD Who.

It's definitely worth it! No BBC America in your neck of the woods then? That's a pity. Hope you get to see it soon :)

Well, there's cable, but to get BBC America you have to pay for the max package. You don't get it on the basic, or at least you didn't last time I asked. So I don't have cable.

(Heck, last time I asked I was told that the History Channel was not available in my zip code. I'm in a major city, how can you cut a zip code out for something? I so didn't get that one.)

Spoilers!!! Some of us haven't seen Season 6 yet! (Don't worry too much I'd already been spoiled for that little development *grin*)

I think I'm enchanted by your icon. What fandom is that?

This one? *points* That would be Supernatural.

No idea who made it, or where I got it from I'm afraid. But it's dead cute isn't it? :)

Oh, so that's a chibi-fied Dean dancing then? Way too cute. (I'll admit that I haven't watched Supernatural.)

It's an outtake that was broadcast in the closing credits and has quickly become a fan favourite moment :)

I love Supernatural but I'm not a rabid fangirl about it (although I did fly 3000 miles to attend a con!! But that was more an excuse to visit Vancouver really *grin*). If you get an opportunity, give it a go.

Mark lives and works in the US, I wasn't surprised by his presence it just seemed a little silly when there are plenty of good US actors they could have used.

He hasn't been in Criminal Minds but he was in CSI & CSI:NY along with Leverage, NCIS, White Collar and Murder She Wrote(!) As for genre credits, he's been in Warehouse 13, Supernatural, Dollhouse, Chuck, BSG and probably loads more. But he'll always be Badger in Firefly to me :)

You know, with the whole Silence monster and how when the person looks away, they forget seeing the monster...

Then how did the aliens know what they were running away from in Series 5? 'The Silence came' 'Silence will fall'

Hmm. Someone didn't think that one through.

To be honest I totally didn't even link these creatures with that plot from last series!

Maybe it's only when humans look away we forget? Which is why they've taken advantage of our planet? *shrugs*
