Doctor Who 6x07
First off the spoiler-free review: OMFG, that episode was so good. Or it was possibly a load of convoluted manure, depending on how the rest of the series plays out! But I enjoyed it, which is the main thing.

I am now deeply regretting not mentioning my crackpot theory about who River might be earlier in the series because I was right dammit! And now I've no proof that I saw it coming.

Anyhoo, moving on to other matters:

Rory the Roman in that opening bit with the cybermen was just made of all kinds of win, I think I'm a little bit in love with him.

The gay marines bit was v. funny (although typically one of them then died. sort of.) and I loved Madame Vastra and Jenny's relationship (and dontcha just know there's gonna be fic there, probably involving her tongue!) but it did make me think for one horrifying moment that RTD was back!

But my favourite bit of all I think (in an episode of lots of favourite bits) was the Doctor figuring out that Rory and Amy are his in-laws (maybe, we've never established that they're married of course) and the precious look of glee on his face. :)

I do rather think that perhaps destroying his entire species might have been a lower point in his existence and what River told him felt a bit too close to what Davros told Ten IMHO.

The plot was a little timey-wimey and convoluted, but I'm excited about how it could play out rather than terrified that it's all going to collapse in under the weight of its own wank as previous series may have done (I'm looking at you RTD). And thank Gallifrey that although it sort of had a cliffhanger we were left with more answers than questions and I got the general feeling that everything would be clear by the end of the series.

Is it September yet?
